I made the mistake of looking at my phone at 10:30pm last night.
This may seem like a minor thing but I find if I look at the screen in the last hour before I go to sleep then I am buzzing for at least 30 minutes.
As a result I didn’t get to sleep until much later that I wanted to – probably about 11:30pm.
I then got woken up about 1:30 in the morning, which is 3 hours earlier than usual, as child two had an urgent matter that needed addressing. After I had waited for a couple of minutes I snuck off back to my bedroom and slept very well until about 6:30am
The lesson here is the old adage about going to bed early as investment in tomorrow rather than staying up late and feeling awful the next day.
So, it wasn’t the worst night I’ve had but it also could have been a lot better if I haven’t been so foolish.
The mattress that I used was mostly the Casper original memory foam mattress although I did spend a little bit of time on Highgrove pocket spring mattress which has 2000 strings and is very very firm
Pillow: excessively firm synthetic pillow. I really must change this to a softer one!
