Sleepeezee Perfectly British Mayfair 3200 Pocket Spring Mattress
The Sleepeezee Mayfair 3200 is the top of the range mattress from one of the highest rated pocket sprung mattress companies we could find on TrustPilot (4.2/5 from 600+ customer reviews).
It comes with a 60 night comfort trial if you buy it from Mattress Online, which is unusual for traditional pocket sprung mattresses (although very common for bed in a box foam mattresses). That means you can swap it for another mattress by Sleepeezee if you don’t like it (check the Ts & Cs here). Sleepeezee has a Royal Warrant - meaning they supply Prince Charles' household - and they've been making mattresses in the UK for nearly a century. |
There aren’t many reviews online for this model but those available are positive and it was a finalist at the main bed industry awards in 2019 (hosted by Gyles Brandreth, in case you’re interested). The number refers to the 3200 pocket springs which are spread over two layers. The main support comes from the 1200 normal sized springs, with 2000 smaller springs on another layer. As I said earlier, pocket springs are the decent type on a mattress and are far better than 'open coil' springs.
The Mayfair 3200 also has a pillow top, which is a comfy layer which is stitched on top and filled with high quality natural materials like wool and cashmere. The downside of a pillow top mattress is that you can’t turn it over, as the cushioning is only on one side.
Signs of quality include a 10 year warranty (longer than many pocket sprung mattresses) and hand side stitching which is a boring technical thing which gives it strength at the edges.
Finally, take note that this is one of the deepest mattresses on the market at 35cm so you might need extra deep bed sheets to avoid injuring yourself whilst making the bed.
